Highlight Your Look

I mentioned in my last post that spring fashion has been redefined to bolder colors. These strong hues would be something I would never wear, but surprisingly, neon goes with almost everything, and the fluorescent shades are very nice. Pair any neon color with a simple outfit. The contrast adds femininity, and it'll also make your outfit look fun and interesting.

Not-So-Mellow Yellow

For spring, color is the new black! If you've been to the mall lately, you have probably noticed that spring fashion has been redefined to stronger colors. Bold hues are no longer solely for risk takers, they're for everyone. I rarely wear yellow, but as I was shopping, this not-so-mellow yellow blazer caught my attention. After an hour long hiatus of indecisiveness and with the help from my roommate, I decided to purchase it!

Music Lovers & Clothes

Headed to a show and don't know what to wear? I assembled three similar looks that I would wear to a concert. I would also wear these outfits on a daily basis except the hat because I rarely wear hats.

It took me a while to fully accept my velvet Dr. Martens, but I am now in love with my docs! I know some people are not use to them so I found cute boots (here, here, here, & here) that would look great on any attire.

Denim Jacket: Forever 21
Crop Top: H&M
Shorts: MinkPink
Belt: Nasty Gal
Shoes: Dr. Martens
Purse: Gift from Peru

Hat: Friend's
Jacket: Buffalo Exchange
Crop Top: Nom de Plume by YaYa
Belt: Thrift Store
Shorts: MinkPink
Spike Bracelet: Tobi

Tank: Nasty Gal
Button Up: Kohl's
Shorts: MinkPink
Belt: Nasty Gal
Shoes: Dr. Martens
Jewelry: Tobi (Bracelet) & Kate Spade (Earrings)

I also organized a music festival survival kit. Sunblock, Chapstick or lip balm, hand sanitizer, oil blotting sheets, sunglasses, phone, floss, and a compact bag to carry all your necessities! I forgot to add two important items in here: tissues and my best friend, WATER!

Ever since freshmen year in college and interning at a record label, I have been attending a lot of shows with my friends. We all know that dressing cute is top priority for plenty of people but dressing smart is just as important! Hence, I added the jackets and the button up long sleeve to add warmth for the cooler nights. As you many know, there are many music festivals coming up. Coachella is probably the biggest music festival coming up in April, but I had the honor of being serenaded by the lovely Lianne La Havas at the El Rey last night. Her voice is unreal (it's even better live..I know) and I admire her humility and kindness.

I had all my clothes back at my home in Montebello so I wasn't able to work with a lot, but remember to dress according to the weather. For instance, I would recommend wearing a crochet top with ventilation openings because it can get hot in the summer!

Sometimes All We Want Is Simplicity

Most mornings I get excited to put on makeup and pull an outfit together, however, I admit there are days when I just want to throw on something simple and run my errands. As spring approaches quickly, it is getting hot in California, and all we want to do is take off those thick layers of clothing and bask in the sun. I thought this look would be fitting for those lazy ones who are content with simplicity and minimalism, and just want to throw a crop top and denim shorts on.

I added a pair of heels from Topshop to add some height to my look.

Next blog post will be on DIY Oatmeal Face Masks! I'm thrilled to share with you guys on what I have planned! And thanks to my sister, Christy, for taking the photos above.

Scrub Yo Lips

As the weather continues to shift back and forth, your lips may have also morphed into a piece of dull, dry, and flaky skin. Everyone craves baby soft lips to help keep them in perfect kissing condition ;) by exfoliating the lips. For a soft and smooth result, these home remedies are ideal for anyone with dry, chapped lips who seeks lips like butter.

Two techniques demonstrated in the video:

1) Take olive oil and sugar, and mix it all together. Make sure the mixture is pasty in consistency! (I overdid the oil in the video, sorry!) Gently rub the mixture on your lips and massage them in a circular  motion.

2) Mix sugar, honey, and petroleum jelly all together. Experiment with the quantities until the mixture has a gritty texture. Apply it on your lips in a circular motion, leave it on for a couple of minutes and wipe it off with a washcloth!

Here I used Too Faced La Creme Color Drenched Lip Cream in Spice Spice Baby. I love the natural color!

For those who are lipstick junkies, Tarte has a lip scrub in lipstick form!

Your lips will be silky smooth after using these home remedies. Many have adopted the toothbrush remedy, but I feel as though it is too harsh on the lips. If these tips & tricks don't work for you, let me know so I can find an effective way to exfoliate your lips! Enjoy scrubbing your lips, and maybe even eating the left over scrub after...it's so yummy!

AND a big thanks to my friend, Rina, for filming & editing!
